Substance Abuse Counselor
Counsel and assist individuals dealing with alcohol and/or other substance abuse problems. Provide multi-faceted substance abuse prevention activities for the American Indian community. Provide early intervention treatment opportunities for youth substance abusers and their families. Provide treatment and recovery support services to eligible clients. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Educational degrees must be from a US Department of Education accredited school. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, have graduated from a formal addiction studies program, and be registered as a substance abuse counselor intern. Registration must be from an accredited program approved by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP).
