Job Description

UIHS is staged for our next 50 years of success and we are currently seeking a Chief Medical Officer who will directly supervise physicians (MD and DO) and mid-level practitioners (NP and PA), oversee Dental and Behavioral Health, and provide recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors. The CMO provides medical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals, objectives and policies to improve clinical services that are consistent with UIHS’ Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles. The CMO must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with health care providers within the facility as well as healthcare providers in hospitals and nursing homes, and private practitioners throughout the community. This position requires a Medical Degree, MD or DO; Board Certification from a United States accredited school, five (5) years progressive work experience in a supervisory capacity in a clinical setting. Your knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cultural and language differences and your excellent interpersonal skills are key requirements for success. Additionally, your familiarity with national accreditation standards; experience with quality assurance, peer review activities, and medical staff credentialing and privileging requirements are key.
